Until recently, producing realistic package prototypes was a very expensive proposition requiring either using specialized proofing equipment, or stopping the press to run samples. New Roland technologies are simplifying this process, making it easier, less expensive and more efficient than ever to create effective package prototypes that match the final product.
For packaging prototypes, Roland offers a complete line of inkjet printers and printer/cutters, including new UV-LED and metallic eco-solvent models. All come with VersaWorks RIP software, which includes color management tools, variable data printing and other advanced features to automate production and ensure quality results. Roland printer/cutters, offered in both UV-LED and metallic models, take a design entirely through the printing and finishing stages, including die-cutting, all on one device.

Roland offers several inkjets which combine digital die cutting with precision printing including the popular VersaCAMM series eco-solvent printer/cutters, the high-performance TrueVis series eco-solvent printer/cutter, and the remarkable VersaUV LEC2 series. Roland printer/cutters are renowned for offering unmatched productivity and overall performance. Once these devices finish printing, they automatically contour cut designs with precision accuracy for a broad range of complex graphics.

Across a vast array of substrates, the Roland VersaUV LEC2 series prints CMYK plus White plus Clear Coat and automatically contour cuts for unmatched versatility. Its ideal for proofs, label and packaging prototypes, membrane switch panels and short-run or personalized production. ECO-UV Clear Coat adds remarkably rich special effects ranging from high gloss finishes for area highlights to custom-textured effects such as faux leather, crocodile skin and even Braille. Integrated contour cutting automatically produces custom graphics of virtually any size and shape.
