In addition to allowing for faster tool path generation, SRP Player offers other advantages over MODELA Player 4, the software that has been used with the SRM-20 up until this point. SRP Player includes special features that support double-sided milling, as well as preview capabilities that enable the user to quickly and easily check fine details before cutting, ensuring that deliverables come out exactly as intended.
SRP Player is available for download at Roland On Support, an online customer support system. Customers who are already using the SRM-20 desktop milling machine can also install and use SRP Player.
Roland DG launched the monoFab series, which includes the SRM-20 desktop milling machine and ARM-10 3D printer, in September 2014 as the new digital desktop fabrication solutions. The culmination of more than 25 years of Roland DG experience in the design and production of 3D rapid prototyping devices, the series combines the benefits of both subtractive and additive systems. Those devices are being widely used not only by product designers and engineers, but also by educators, students and hobbyists around the world.
